Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5:1,2 (NKJV)

Changing Seasons

Well, it is that time of year again. The leaves are off the trees and the snow is on the ground (for now). With that we wanted to take a opportunity to share some updates from the homestead.

With the help of the Lord we took advantage of some of the nice weather in October and planted our garlic for next year. With the Lord’s blessing we will have increased quantities and varieties available for next year. We want to thank everyone for their business this year and we look forward to serving your garlic needs come next year. We have been enjoying the use of our garlic in our meals and wow! some of those strains sure have a punch.

With Thanksgiving (US) coming up, we wanted to reflect on some of the blessings the Lord worked in our lives. First we are thankful for His presence in our lives and His provision for us. We are healthy and strong, all the summer chores are accomplished and we are settling in for the winter slow down associated with work on the homestead. We are still able to pick fresh Kale from the garden and our cow is faithfully providing us with milk every day for our yogurt, cottage cheese, and butter needs. Our cold room is full of the tireless work of our mother, who spent so many hours canning, so we can enjoy the fruits of the summer well into next year. We pray that the Lord would continue to sustain us through the cold and dark months ahead.

The Lord has also blessed us with some new Leghorn chickens who are providing eggs for us every day, along with a couple faithful old hens who do their part as well. We also have welcomed a new addition to our homestead, a little kitten rescued off the street we have named Micha. If the Lord allows she will be a barn cat and keep the rodents there at bay.

We continue to make weekly videos with Scripture based topics on our YouTube channel, if you have not visited there yet we encourage you to do so. We share little lessons with you that have been given to us by the Lord. We also share these through our Facebook page as well. @littledexterhomestead.

We pray blessings for you and yours and until next time…
